What is a QR code?
A QR code (Quick Response code) is a two-dimensional barcode that stores data in a grid of black and white squares. A phone camera decodes it instantly, making it a fast bridge from print to digital — opening a website, joining Wi-Fi, saving a contact or starting a payment.

Frequently asked questions
Do these QR codes expire?
No. This tool creates static QR codes, which encode your data directly. They never expire and do not depend on any tracking server — they will work forever.
What error-correction level should I use?
Level M (15%) is a good default. Use Q (25%) or H (30%) if you add a logo or expect the code to be printed small or on a curved surface, since higher levels tolerate more damage.
Can I use a QR code commercially?
Yes. QR Code is an open standard (ISO/IEC 18004) and codes you generate here are free to use anywhere, including print, packaging and advertising.
Why isn't my QR code scanning?
Common causes are too little contrast between foreground and background, a code printed too small, or inverted colours (light on dark). Keep a dark code on a light background with a quiet margin around it.
What is the maximum data a QR code can hold?
Up to about 4,296 alphanumeric characters or 2,953 bytes, but codes with a lot of data become dense and harder to scan. Keep URLs short for reliability.
